About God and Hoops Ministries

At God and Hoops Ministries, we believe basketball is more than a game—it’s a powerful tool to build character, faith, and lasting relationships. Based in Michigan, our nonprofit ministry is dedicated to helping young men grow closer to God while developing the leadership, discipline, and teamwork that the game of basketball naturally teaches.

Our vision is simple:

• To strengthen the bond between fathers and sons through faith and sports.

• To provide mentorship and a positive space for boys without fathers to grow in confidence and purpose.

• To teach love, accountability, and discipleship both on and off the court.​

Through our programs, players move through Levels of Character Verification, combining spiritual growth with basketball development:

• Level 1 – Foundation Player: Completing classes, building skills, and showing character on the court.

• Level 2 – Varsity Disciple: Growing deeper in faith, living out Christian values, and stepping up as a leader in both basketball and life.

• Level 3 – Noblemen Knight: Fully committed discipleship—baptized, active in ministry, excelling in academics and athletics, and leading by example through courage, chivalry, ability, and substance.

 

We want every young man who comes through God and Hoops to leave not just as a stronger player, but as a stronger believer, leader, and son. Whether it’s hitting free throws under pressure, writing a testimony of faith, or mentoring a younger teammate, our mission is to build men of character who use their gifts to honor God and inspire others.
