Cones or markers (optional)
Warm-Up (5 minutes): Begin with a light warm-up to get the player's muscles ready for activity.

Jog in place for 1 minute.
-
High knees for 1 minute.
-
Butt kicks for 1 minute.
-
Side-to-side shuffles for 1 minute.
-
Arm circles (forward and backward) for 1 minute.
-
Dynamic stretching (leg swings, arm swings) for 1 minute.
Dribbling Drills (10 minutes): Improve ball-handling skills with various dribbling exercises.
-
Stationary Dribbling (2 minutes): Stand in one spot and practice dribbling the ball with both hands alternately. Focus on control and keeping the ball low.
-
Around the World (2 minutes): Set up cones or markers in a circular pattern and dribble the ball around them using right and left hand dribbles. Work on changing direction while maintaining control.
-
Crossover Dribble (2 minutes): Practice the crossover dribble by dribbling with the right hand, crossing the ball over to the left hand, and vice versa. Keep the dribble low and controlled.
-
Speed Dribble (2 minutes): Dribble as fast as possible from one end of the driveway to the other while maintaining control. Focus on quick, controlled dribbles.
-
Figure-8 Dribble (2 minutes): Create a figure-8 pattern with cones or markers and dribble the ball through the pattern, alternating hands. This drill improves hand-eye coordination and control.
Shooting Drills (10 minutes): Improve shooting accuracy and form.
-
Layups (3 minutes): Practice layups on both sides of the hoop. Work on proper footwork and finishing with the correct hand.
-
Free Throws (3 minutes): Shoot a series of free throws. Focus on your shooting form, including your stance, grip, and follow-through.
-
Spot Shooting (4 minutes): Set up specific shooting spots around the driveway (e.g., the free-throw line, the top of the key, the wing). Take shots from each spot and focus on your shooting technique.
Defense and Agility Drills (5 minutes):
-
Defensive Slides (2 minutes): Work on defensive footwork by doing lateral defensive slides up and down the driveway. Focus on staying low and maintaining proper defensive stance.
-
Agility Ladder (3 minutes): If you have an agility ladder, use it for footwork drills. If not, you can simulate ladder drills by drawing lines with chalk or using tape on the driveway.
Cool Down (5 minutes): Finish the session with a light cool down to prevent injury and promote recovery.
-
Stretch major muscle groups (legs, arms, back) for 3 minutes.
-
Deep breathing and relaxation exercises for 2 minutes.
This 30-minute driveway basketball drill provides a well-rounded practice session that covers dribbling, shooting, defense, and agility. Adjust the duration of each drill based on the player's skill level and fitness.
