Motown Magic Player Code of Conduct

As a member of Motown Magic, I commit to upholding the highest standards of sportsmanship, teamwork, and personal integrity—both on and off the court.

1. I Take Ownership

I am responsible for my actions and choices. I understand that my behavior reflects not only on myself but also on my teammates, coaches, and the Motown Magic basketball club.

2. I Lead with Courage

I demonstrate leadership by standing up for what is right, even when it is difficult. I support my teammates and speak out against negativity, injustice, and poor sportsmanship.

3. I Show Respect to All

I treat everyone with respect—coaches, teammates, opponents, referees, parents, teachers, and spectators. I judge people by their character, not by labels, and understand that respect starts at home and in school.

4. I Practice Empathy

I strive to understand others’ feelings and challenges. I ask, "How can I help?" and offer encouragement and support to those around me.

5. I Set the Standard

I recognize that I am a role model, and my actions matter. I lead by example with politeness, courtesy, and professionalism, knowing that I represent my family, team, and community.

6. I Give 100% Effort

I commit to working hard in practices, games, and events. I embrace feedback, knowing that constructive criticism helps me grow. I remain coachable, focused, and dedicated to my development as a player and a person.

7. I Am a Good Sport

Win or lose, I display class and humility. I celebrate success with gratitude and handle setbacks with grace. I support and uplift my teammates and opponents alike.

8. I Follow the Rules

I honor the policies, rules, and guidelines set by my team, coaches, and club. I understand that being part of Motown Magic is a privilege, and I will always conduct myself accordingly.

9. I Am A Student Athlete

I will maintain a 2.7gpa or higher
