Philosophy: Team over individuals. We win together!

Commitment & Attendance
Be Punctual: Arrive on time, fully geared up, and ready to go. Preparation starts before practice begins.
90-Day Dedication: During our season, players may not participate on other teams without Head Coach Tarmale’s consent. This ensures consistency in attendance, participation, and roster stability—no surprises at tournaments!
Practice Matters: Attendance directly impacts playing time. If you miss practice, you miss key instruction, and without knowing the plays, you won’t be able to compete.
Family & Community
We Commit to Families: We value parent involvement and encourage families to be active in their child’s journey.
Social Media Support: Parents should promote their child and our Motown Magic program using the correct hashtags, especially #MotownMagic. This helps build our brand and visibility for recruitment opportunities.
Uniform & Appearance
Game Day Attire: Players must wear solid black shorts, black socks, and black undergarments. No exceptions.
Dress for Success: If you’re not in proper uniform, you won’t step on the court. Presentation matters.
Respect & Conduct
Respect the Game: While waiting for the court, be mindful of ongoing games—no distractions.
Stay Engaged: If you’re not in a drill, watch and listen. Every moment is a chance to improve.
Positive Culture: Inappropriate behavior won’t be tolerated. We hold ourselves to high standards.
Accountability: If behavioral issues arise, they will be addressed directly with the coach for appropriate consequences.
Team Spirit & Playing Time
Sportsmanship First: When leaving the game, give every teammate a high-five. They’ve been cheering for you—show them the same respect.
Earn Your Minutes: Playing time is based on practice execution, work ethic, and attitude—not just talent. Everyone here is skilled, but success comes from understanding the game plan and executing plays with confidence.
Earn Your Spot: Being part of Motown Magic is a privilege, not a guarantee. Show up, work hard, and make the most of the opportunity!
