Resting players for National tournaments perspective

Motown Magic Families,
I want to take a moment to support Coach Adam’s request regarding resting our player from track this weekend.
First, I want to acknowledge that we’re all navigating this journey together. Many of us are still learning the ins and outs of tournament structures, exposure opportunities, and what moments truly carry weight for our student-athletes. That’s completely understandable.
What I do want to emphasize is the importance of national tournaments—especially opportunities like the Adidas Jr. 3SSB Midwest regional circuit. These events are specifically designed to bring together high-level talent from across the region and country. Because of that, they naturally draw attention from scouts, media, and others who are actively evaluating players at this level.
These moments matter. This is where athletes are seen, compared, and measured against other top-tier players. It’s a key part of why we are intentional about the tournaments we select and when we compete in them. Our focus is on creating meaningful exposure opportunities for your sons.
With that in mind, I fully support prioritizing these national events—especially over local track meets or practices—so our players can be at their best when it matters most. We invest a great deal of time, energy, and resources into this process, and being prepared and rested for these opportunities is critical.
We appreciate your continued trust and commitment as we work together to put our athletes in the best possible position to succeed. Let me know if I can answer more questions around this topic, thanks.
—Coach T
