Who We Are
We are Goonies-Magic, a 14U program built from the powerful collaboration between the Michigan Goonies and Motown Magic.
This message comes directly from the Owner of Motown Magic—and understand this clearly:
Motown Magic is not just another basketball program. We are a proven, battle-tested, high-level organization built to deliver a private, elite basketball experience for athletes in Macomb County.
We’ve competed across state lines—including Indiana. We run with the best on the Adidas Jr. 3SSB Circuit and Prep Hoops.
And now… we’re expanding.
🚀 Our Vision: Exposure → Opportunity → Expansion
What started as a group of committed dads chasing the best experience for our sons has turned into something powerful:
200+ wins in 4 years
Recognized as one of the top 14U programs in Macomb County
A growing platform creating real exposure and real opportunities
This partnership with the Michigan Goonies allows us to do one thing:
👉 Give more athletes a shot—without lowering the standard.
⚠️ Welcome to the Team — You Earned This
Let’s be clear:
You didn’t join this team…You made it.
You showed enough to earn a spot in a highly competitive environment.
But understand this:
This is NOT beginner level
This is NOT recreational basketball
This is NOT for entitlement
👉 This is where players are developed, pushed, and tested
We will bring the best out of every player—but the standard stays high.

This is a competitive program with national exposure.
Playing time is earned — not given.
We value:
Defense
Effort
Communication
Coachability
We do NOT tolerate:
Bad attitudes
Disrespect
Laziness
At 14 years old…
👉 You are not little kids anymore.
👉 You are young men.
Respect is required. Period.
⏳ The 24-Hour Rule
Parents:
Do NOT approach coaches immediately after games.
Win or lose—we are all processing.

This is about respect, clarity, and professionalism.
